Standby Power Generators

When the power goes out, standby generators automatically take over safely

Video: Standby Generator Basics

A standby generator keeps your power on during an outage. It’s installed outside your house (like an AC unit) and comes on automatically — whether you’re home or away. All within seconds of a power outage. Plus home generators run on propane or natural gas, so there’s no refueling.

Generator Installation Process

River Pointe can help you choose the right standby generator for your desired needs. Installation is done by experienced professionals through a series of steps to ensure the installation is done efficiently and on budget.

How A Standby Generator Works

Power Monitoring and Management

Your automatic transfer switch (ATS) monitors the electricity coming from your utility company. It's working 24/7 to protect your home. When utility power fails, the ATS activates the generator in seconds, powering your home. When the utility power is restored, the ATS automatically transfers your power from the generator to the utility.

Self Diagnostics

Your generator will exercise itself and run diagnostic tests for 20 minutes each week to make sure it’s ready when needed.

Real-Time Management and Notifications

With OnCue Generator Management System, you can manage your KOHLER home generator, receive updates via text or e-mail, view real-time power operation and more. All from your computer, phone or tablet.
